Buying a personal laptop

I still remember my first ever portable computer – a Toshiba Libretto, a teeny weeny machine given to all the sales representative in my company. It was my first job right after completing my compulsory one year pre-registration housemanship, and being the innocent and naïve person I was back then, "owning" the Toshiba Libretto was really a novelty, and made me feel like I was doing something really important. Haha!

Some time after, all Libretto was retired from service and replaced with the standard size Compaq laptop, and subsequently, every couple years or so, my laptop got replaced. Hmm…perhaps the company bought all those laptops with Hewlett Packard promo codes.

I've never owned a personal laptop and all these years, I've been using the office laptop for personal use as well. However, over the years, it's getting increasingly harder to use the office laptop for personal use, as more and more security features are installed and restrictions placed on accessing websites deemed to be a threat to the company network. We are also not allowed to install free softwares into the laptop. As such, I've been toying with the idea of finally getting my own laptop with Dell coupons.

And while I'm at it, might as well refurbish my study area with new appliances since I can get them cheaper with Home Depot coupons.
