Chinese New Year at the malls

We haven’t been doing much mall hopping during festive seasons the past few years but we managed to visit Paradigm Mall and Pavillion this year.

The theme at Paradigm Mall was "The Beary Journey", taking a leaf from the highest grossing local movie The Journey (一路有你).  There were lots of bear decorations, giving it a Christmassy feel, albeit the bears were all wearing Chinese costumes and holding gold ingots, lanterns, peony flowers and Chinese calligraphic writings instead of Christmas stockings, crackers, bells, stars and candy canes J

Over at Pavilion, the year of the horse was marked with “688 Trail of Fortune”, featuring the largest collection of 688 horses to share abundance of wealth, success and prosperity.  The hand painted horses were displayed all the way from the Bukit Bintang entrance to the Centre Court to signify the fortune flowing into Pavilion.  There was also a horsey merry-go-round amidst all the stores selling CNY plants and decorations.

Just before CNY, we happened to be at Tropicana City Mall, and stumbled upon a mini obstacle course put up by the ESCAPE Theme Park Penang.  For RM 20, the child can play as long as he/she can.  Yiu Yiu was in a dress that day but we just couldn’t pass up the opportunity so we went in anyhow.  She had a blast and didn’t want to leave even after two hours.  Maybe I should bring her to Skytrex Adventure Shah Alam.
