Alas, we decided to forget about Ikea and went furniture shopping over the weekend. Sadly all the study room furnishings we saw were either too office looking or didn't match our colour scheme so our search for the ideal study room set continues. Fortunately however, we saw a storage system in Giant Kelana Jaya that was quite close to the one we wanted from Ikea so we bought those. We also bought a baby safety gate from Babyland SS2 as Yiu Yiu is becoming quite a Stairs Master these days and would climb up and down the stairs tirelessly. Poor mummy and papa had backache as a result of hunching along behind her in case she fell.
Back home, I went to work straight away installing the safety gate and the storage system, while hubby, who's rather hopeless with DIY stuff, kept Yiu Yiu entertained and distracted her from disturbing me. I was quite pleased with myself for successfully assembling and installing the safety gate and the storage system. Most of all, I'm happy that I finally managed to clear the clutter in the room downstairs. Though it's just transferring the clutter into the store room, at least the clutter is right where it should be.
Mum and Yihao were staying at my place for the last two weeks as younger sister was away in Dubai for a business trip. Since the days had been so hot, we brought the two toddlers for a dip in the pool at elder sister's apartment, which is just a hop and a skip away from my house. It's been such as long time since I last took Yiu Yiu to the pool and she enjoyed it tremendously. The arm band floater we bought her is still slightly loose but sufficient to keep her afloat, and she bravely kicked her way around the kiddies' pool.
With the home broadband connected, I also managed to read some blogs. I've bookmarked quite a few blogs but never had the time to read them in the office. Hopefully I can catch up on reading these blogs, leave some comments and at least leave some trail in blogosphere.
So all in all, last weekend turned out to be a productive one for me.

We always wanted to bring Baby Samuel to the pool but procrastinate thinking he might be too young.
Seeing Yiu Yiu having the blast, we are even more motivated now.
Hmmm, wonder what will be the right 'age' to bring a baby to the pool.
looks like she's quite a good swimmer ;).
hey that gate how much yah?
Susan, I know of mums who've brought their babies to the pool even as young as 2-3 months, but of course you can't spend too long in the pool. How old is Baby Samuel?
Jazz, she loves the water. Sometimes she even refuses to get out from the shower. The gate is about RM130 but as our stairs is quite wide, we had to buy a 6-inch extension, another RM39, I think.
looks like you have change the template from my last visit to this blog.
We have yet to introduce swimming to Ching Ern although she will turn 10 months by this Sunday. Must do that in our next home trip to my FIL's hse. that comes with a pool
WS, the old template had a narrow column so the posts ended up stretched vertically, which I didn't quite like. Fiddled around and found this so changed lor. Wah! your FIL house has a pool? Must be a very big house with compound. Can I come for a holiday ah? Hehehe...
nice that you can buy the gates from our local shops. My house stairs is wider than normal and I had to look ones from North Gates (US) to fit....hee hee although Aiden is only 11 months.. Shopping around already.
you are managing well there with lots of things to juggle...hope I can visit you soon...
Baby Samuel is 8 months old. But we are holding on the thoughts of going to the swimming pool for awhile as Baby Samuel has sensitive skin and prone to rashes.
Well, for now he has to be contented with the baby pool time with his cousin (yes : ) PS's son)
